Caroline, Louise and Diane – 3 Achievers In Business Administration - 08/11/2006

Caroline Downes and Louise Medway, who are sisters, joined Llanelli Rural Council, to gain recognised qualifications and gain experience within the Business Administration environment. Prior to joining us both learners had been made redundant from their clothing manufacturing posts, which they had held for approximately 14 and 9 years respectively. Due to the dedication of training staff and the hard work and commitment of each learner, they have successfully achieved NVQ Business Administration Level 2, Key Skills and many single subject qualifications with distinction results. Caroline has successfully secured full-time employment with her work placement provider, Quantum GB Limited, and Louise will hopefully be employed by her work placement provider, Gravells of Kidwelly. Both girls are currently working towards CLAiT Plus, and will be encouraged to complete this qualification even if they are in employment.

Diane Atkinson originally joined us in January 2006, but had to leave prematurely in August 2006 due to her daughter’s ill health, as she is a lone parent with four children. When Diane first joined us, she lacked self-confidence and self worth and did not believe she could achieve recognised qualifications or secure worthwhile employment.

Diane rejoined us in October 2006 to continue her training and has to date successfully achieved NVQ Business and Administration Level 2, Key Skills, many single subject qualifications with distinction results and is currently working towards CLAiT Plus.

All Llanelli Rural Council Training staff are motivated to ensure learners receive high quality training, but also firmly believe that the distance travelled is also measured by the learners increased self-confidence, happiness and life satisfaction
