Jobs Growth Wales Plus

Jobs Growth Wales+ is a training and development programme for 16-18 year olds to give you the skills, qualifications and experience you need to gain employment or further training.

Jobs Growth Wales+ have three different strands to make sure that you get the support you need to progress:

 

 

 

Engagement

This strand will help you to decide what you’d like to do in the future. Jobs Growth Wales+ Engagement allows you to try a variety of activities, learning experiences and work tasters at our learning centres, online, outside or in the workplace. These activities/experiences could include:

On this strand of the Jobs Growth Wales+ you can receive a training allowance of up to £30 per week.

There are no minimum hours of attendance per week. However, you will only receive the full £30 training allowance when you attend 21 hours or more per week.

 

Advancement

If you already have a career path in mind, then this strand will be for you. You can gain new skills and experience, as well as qualifications, in your chosen subject. You will have the opportunity to try a variety of activities, learning experiences and work tasters at our learning centres, online, outside or in the workplace. These activities/experiences could include:

On this strand of the Jobs Growth Wales+ you can receive a training allowance of up to £55 per week.

You must attend a minimum of 16 hours per week. However, you will only receive the full £55 training allowance when you attend 30 hours or more per week.

 

Employment

If you know exactly what you want to do and you are ready to start working, this strand can help you get a job. You’ll work closely with us to find you a great job opportunity with a local employer. Whilst looking for a job, you can receive a training allowance of up to £55 per week. You must attend a minimum of 16 hours per week. However, you will only receive the full £55 training allowance when you attend 30 hours or more per week.

Once you get a job, you will be employed by the company and agree to their terms and conditions. Instead of a training allowance, you will receive a wage paid at least at minimum wage.

Your employer will receive a wage subsidy from the Welsh Government to help pay your salary for the first six months.
